1. Money. Such a simple term, but it’s the very thing keeping you and your employees’ pockets full and business afloat. Instead of being so conscious of money – learn the art of delegation and devote at least a part of your day to management-only tasks that are results-oriented.
  2. This means that you need to hire employees that you trust and get the stress off you. Don’t try to do it all yourself as you will tire yourself out.
  3. Set some clear, measurable short-term and long-term goals for your business to keep your business on track!
  4. You definitely need to be organised, especially when it comes to time management and a first-class communicator.
  5. If you don’t have the skills to do a great job, consider outsourcing it for a more fast and effective solution. It will dramatically free up your time and allow you to work on more important aspects of your business.
  • Team. Invest your time to train your employees in order to build a successful salon and the benefits will come through immediately!
  • Talk to your team on a regular basis and use your time wisely by scheduling weekly meetings to explain goals and expectations for that particular week.
  • Focus on the most important topics and make sure that your team is on the same page as you! Also, make sure that you tell your team that you value their participation and input.
  • Having one-to-one meetings definitely will help you understand issues that you might not be aware of. It’s best to give your employees some direction, as they look towards you for guidance.
  • Along with weekly meetings, there should be a separate meeting monthly for future goals and events of the business. Gather some ideas for treatments and state the clients’ feedback to improve from there.
  • Image. Always think of your brand as an investment, instead of a cost.
  • Create a brand that will showcase who you are and what your business stands for at the end. Also, make sure that your brand’s images are of the highest quality.
  • Even heard of consistency is key? Well, consistency is crucial to your brand! Being inconsistent comes with consequences, as you fall at a risk of your customers being disinterested and affects your image.
  • Target Audience. There is nothing absolutely worse than not knowing your intended demographics.
  • Your brand must be relevant to potential customers, allowing you to create an authentic and emotional connection with them.
  • Also, by knowing your target audience – you will be able to target your ads towards your potential clients’ needs, making it simpler to create a positive perception of your business in their minds.
  • Find a niche audience, then look for a secondary niche and tailor your services and products to suit that intended client base. Then research!
  • Clients. The most important people and investment!
  • Learn to tighten up your schedule; if you’re working on 10-minute appointment blocks, try moving it to 10 minutes to reduce time wasted.
  • Make sure that the employees are all working to support one another, especially when it comes to tidying up treatment rooms.
  • Menu.
  • Your menu should be filled with the most popular and profitable services. Meaning that you need to get rid of services that aren’t generating revenue.
  • When you write your menu, you should write descriptions and benefits that make it easier for your clients to understand and be appealed to.
  • Essentially, your menu should inform and tantalise your clients! Make sure that you add a call-to-action at the end, convincing potential customers into booking an appointment with your spa.
  • Website
  • Your website is absolutely critical to your business! It has the capability to draw more traffic to your services when the website is looking both clear and visually pleasing.
  • When improving your social media presence, make sure that you include a website at the end of ALL your posts so interested clients are able to get more information on your services.
  • When you have a website, there should also be a blog that is posted weekly on there!
  • Write for your readers but include key words and phrases in your article which will evidently improve your SEO and generate more traffic for your business.
  • Always add images to your blog posts but try to be as authentic as possible. If possible, take the photos yourself.
  • Write about your specialised services (and the benefits) or general tips. Don’t write about boring stuff.
  • Use hyperlinks!
